Our Story

POP Bakery started early 2010 in my parents house in West Hampstead London. Me (Clare) and my mum (Judith) began with a very simple cake on a stick but were soon making intricate Russian dolls and leopard print designs. They were instantly very popular with magazines and blogs- a personal highlight for me was having our perfume cake POPs featured in a 5 page feature in British Vogue and of course my TV appearance on Paul Hollywood's Pies and Puds.

We went from strength to strength with our little cake pop cottage industry and I even created our new range of edible paint POP Paint in my childhood home. However with boxes under every bed in the house and polystyrene climbing the walls of my parents 'walk-in-wardrobe' we soon outgrew my childhood home and I had to start looking for a new base for POP Bakery.

I found our little shop in Queens Park in 2015 and have so enjoyed creating a little home for all things POP! The base has changed a lot over the time we’ve been here- from a POP painting cafe to a party decoration shop. But in the summer of 2021 we made the decision to change the front into a larger kitchen space for working and move the office into the old prep room. I so loved designing the space and the team have thrived in the new environment. It also allowed us to take on more team members as of the extra space. Here’s a pic of the space.

Whereas before we used to encourage people to simply drop by and pick up POPs we now ask that people call in advance so we can have their POPs ready for them as we’re not an open retail space anymore.

Our team is ever growing and we are excited for the future launching on new platforms and partnering with brands.
